“Beautiful Getaway to call Home away from Home” Wow Simply beautiful! I was looking online for a gorgeous place to stay and I found it. My husband and I loved the house from its fully equipped Kitchen to it's charming furnished bedrooms. Everything was decorated so nice and complete charm enhanced every room with antiques and the nice furnishings of updated world including Internet and Flat Screen TV and a grill outside with patio furniture and a beautiful view of the lake. Thank you for sharing this home with others. We will visit again soon.

Make sure to visit the ‘Field of Dreams’ from the Kevin Costner film of the same name in Dyersville before heading for Des Moines. Here, you can visit the State Fair for an authentic taste of Iowa, tour the Capitol Building and Salisbury House, or take the kids to Adventureland Amusement and Water Park—the largest in Iowa and well worth a visit.
For outdoor pursuits, hiking and camping at Honey Creek State Park in Moravia is a must – you can even rent a kayak and enjoy Rathbun Lake, with some great picnic spots too.
Make sure you visit Albert the Bull, the world’s largest bull statue located in Audubon. Albert stands 30 feet tall, weighs 45 tons and attracts over 20,000 visitors a year!
Don’t miss the chance to shop for locally-grown produce (like the popular zucchini) at Des Moines and Dubuque Farmers Markets.

Keep an eye on weather warnings, as Iowa lies in ‘tornado alley’ with a risk of extreme weather during the spring and summer. There are around 50 days of thunderstorm activity a year.
A car is pretty essential when it comes to getting around (although public transport in the main cities is fairly reliable) and you can pick up car rentals at Des Moines International Airport. Avoid driving during the winter months if you can as the roads can be treacherous.
