“Awesome and Blissful” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blissful Vista. Jenkins Rentals is wonderful and helpful. We have been coming to Blowing Rock for 14 years and are looking forward to next year. The location was perfect, private but still around everyone. Just make sure you have 4 wheel drive as always. The view is fantastic, ever changing and peaceful. Totally enjoyed waking up and just looking out the window to see the sunrise. Love the wood burning fireplace. If you are a chef, the kitchen was perfect and had everything one needs. Our favorite part is just enjoying the view out on the awesome decks. Thank you for a wonderful home and sweet memories.

“There was a Christmas tree!” We booked this cabin with some dear friends to celebrate my partner's birthday. I was SO excited to see the home decorated for Christmas inside! It made the occasion feel so cozy and welcoming. Easy to get to Linville Falls, and downtown Blowing Rock. We had a blast hanging out around the fire pit and cooking family dinners for everyone. Would come back anytime :)

Blowing Rock house

“So much more than expected!” My wife and I found this place about 1.5 years ago and wanted to come and stay for our anniversary, but it was booked. We knew that we'd love to make it out the next year and so we did. What an amazing experience! My wife and I are drawn to the mountains and we weren't disappointed. The view is absolutely breathtaking and the house is a gorgeous addition to it. The pictures of the property do not do it justice. We brought our 3 year old with us and she loved it just as much as we did; especially the wood stove. Four days was definitely not enough to enjoy the house, the view and the surrounding areas. We fell in love with house and actually ended up spending half of our days lounging around inside, and staring out the huge window in the living/dining room area. Inside the home were notes that helped with the operation of some things. Switches were labeled and instructions for the wood stove were also very helpful. It was very clean and welcoming as well. It was the perfect size for our three person family and we all felt completely at home during our stay. We are looking forward to our next stay here and hope that it is soon and longer than our first. My wife and I very highly recommend Hawks View.

Shady Lane is a adorable compact cottage, in-town Blowing Rock

Blowing Rock house

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Riding Horses at Moses Cone and staying at Shady Lane - 1 1/2 mi” A friend and I stayed at Shady Lane for 3 days/2 nights. We came up to ride horses, and stroll around Blowing Rock. Shady Lane is superbly located. You could park your car and walk everywhere. It also was very cozy and quiet. I will definitely be bringing my husband back for a getaway. The funny thing is, the first night we had no heat and had gotten rained on while riding horses and we were chilled and the Heater didn't work. We built a fire in the stove, but we slept in our sweatpants and wished we had more covers. The next day I phoned the rentals to say we needed heat. When we got in from riding again there was no heat. The rental lady was very nice and came by to check things out. She offered to move us. But we cuddled up in the L.R., got more wood from a convenience story. I was settled in on the couch and my friend had made a make-shift bed with two chairs. The fire was roaring. at 10:00p.m. there was knock on the door and we were surprised, shocked and a little scared about who would be knocking at that hour. It was the heating people. They stayed until 11:00p.m. But got the heater running. We were so comfy in our makeshift camp in the living room that we cut the heat down and stayed there. It was something to laugh about and add to our stories. Ha.

“Great location” Great location, convenient to both Blowing Rock and Boone. Still has the "mountain home" vibe without being too far from civilization. Unless that's what you're looking for. Downstairs split bedrooms/livingroom set up really convenient for the kids. Beds very hard and pillows uncomfortable so be prepared. Otherwise good times all around.

Beautiful Cabin w HOT TUB 1 mile to Parkway! Walk to Waterfalls

Blowing Rock log cabin

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“A Mountain Dream” My husband and I along with our two children ages 9 ad 11 recently stayed in a Mountain Dream. I am always a little hesitant to stay away from home but as soon as we opened the front door I breathed a sigh of relief - this was a cabin well kept and very clean! Directions to the cabin and surrounding areas were well thought of and convenient to us. The hot tub was super clean, easy to operate and hot just the way we like it. We enjoyed a beautiful walk to a near by water fall and my son especially enjoyed the game room located at the from of the park. The fully equipped kitchen was perfect as well as washer and dryer. Clean towels, sheets and extras were neatly awaiting us providing a stress free stay. Thank you for taking such pride in your cabins! We will visit often!

“Could not have been more satisfied” Obviously we all have different preferences when it comes to homes which will effect our impressions and reviews. I'm more concerned with my immediate environment (i.e. the place I'm staying in) than I am whether I'm in the most magical geographic location. That said, this might well be the cleanest and most comfortable place I've ever stayed. By clean, I mean clean in a way that there was no way to tell I didn't live in it regularly or that it had probably been recently cleaned. It was just clean. The style, layout, furnishing, etc were very balanced, solid, and comforting. It's out of the way but I like privacy and being in secluded areas. I wouldn't especially recommend it where active children were involved as much as I would a couple very comfortable in their own skins who are seeking time together in a very different environment than the hectic world I know. The technology piece of the homes furnishing is not anywhere near leading edge but I completely abandoned broadcast television 12 years ago and whether something is cathode ray TV technology or flat screen 4K my brain can handle that if the content (talking a movie) is interesting. I had no contact with Jenkins Rentals other than signing in and checking out but I had a very good feel about who I interacted with. I'd use them again and I will return to this home. I only hope it stays this way. Heck, I'd buy a third of it with someone with a like mind. I'd get Jenkins Rentals to oversee it but it wouldn't be a rental anymore. I'd be tempted to not announce it's existence to friends or family except on a need to know basis

“Big place, great place!” Loved this unit at Chetola... second time staying here with my wife and sons. So much to do in the condo, let alone on the Chetola grounds and around Blowing Rock. Game room is a great touch, but can also be a bedroom if need be (with a pullout couch). Bedrooms are beautiful, the entire unit is decorated sharply.

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting

What was described in the listing and shown in the pictures is exactly what we got - an attractive, well appointed home in a beautiful setting. The home was not only attractive but was very comfortable. Everything we needed was in place when we arrived and information was available to answer any question that might arise. The owner touched base with us to make sure everything was okay when we arrived and provided contact information in the event any problems came up. We had been scheduled to be at the house a week earlier but due to very heavy snowfall we could not travel. Throughout the week before we were scheduled to arrive, the owner stayed in touch with us and provided links to local weather. When we determined we would not be able to come on our reserved dates, the owner provided other options and we felt very lucky to be able to make our trip the following week. We relaxed and fully enjoyed the very peaceful setting. We are looking forward to visiting again so we can experience Hawks View House in other seasons.see more
